At Sand Fox Journeys, our mission is simple: to connect travellers to the magic of Morocco's desert regions with comfort, safety, and a personal touch.
Founded by Moubarak Benamar, a native of Erfoud and longtime resident of Merzouga, Sand Fox Journeys is the culmination of his deep love for the Sahara and his dedication to showcasing its timeless beauty. While Moubarak has explored every corner of Morocco, the desert remains his home and his greatest inspiration.
As a proud Berber, Moubarak is fluent in Tamazight and Arabic and has also studied French, English, and Spanish to connect with travellers from all walks of life.
With extensive experience in the tourism industry—as a luxury desert camp cook, camel driver, artisanal shop clerk, and waiter—Moubarak combines his intimate knowledge of the Sahara with a commitment to delivering authentic and memorable experiences.

How do I book a ride?You can book directly through our website or by emailing us at reservations@sandfoxjourneys.com.

What payment methods do you accept?To accommodate our global customers, we accept PayPal, which also allows you to pay with your debit or credit card. Please note that we do not accept cash. All services must be paid for at the time of booking, but are fully refundable up to 24 hours before the booking time.

What is your refund policy?Customers who cancel their booking up to 24 hours before the start time are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made fewer than 24 hours before the booking start time are non-refundable. Refunds will be credited back to your original payment method within 5–7 working days. If you have any questions or special circumstances, please don’t hesitate to contact our support team, and we’ll be happy to assist you.

How do I make changes to my booking after it's been confirmed?You can easily make changes to your booking by logging into our site using the email address you provided at the time of booking. Once logged in, navigate to the "My Bookings" tab, where you can reschedule or cancel your booking. If it’s your first time logging in, you’ll need to create an account using the same email address. Please note that changes to your booking can be made up to 24 hours before the booking start time, as per our Booking Terms and Conditions. If you require further assistance, please feel free to contact us, and we’ll be happy to help you modify, reschedule, or cancel your booking.

Can I stop along the way to take photos or for a short break?Absolutely! We are happy to make short stops along the route for you to take photos, enjoy the scenery, or stretch your legs. We recommend stops in Rissani and/or Erfoud to experience the local culture and stunning views. Just let your driver know your preferences, and they’ll accommodate you wherever possible.

How far is the trip, and how long does it take?The longest distance on the route is between Errachidia and Merzouga, which is approximately 127 km (79 miles) and takes around 2 hours to drive. Rissani and Erfoud are located en route, providing convenient stops during the journey. Please note that travel times may vary depending on road conditions, weather, and any stops you choose to make along the way.

First-Aid Kit Availability: Each vehicle is equipped with a fully stocked first-aid kit to handle minor medical needs during your journey. Your safety is our top priority, and we are committed to providing a secure and comfortable experience on every ride. What happens if my flight is delayed?We closely monitor flight arrivals and adjust your pick-up time if your flight is delayed. There is no additional charge for delays, so your driver will be waiting for you when you land.

Do you offer return transfers?Yes, we offer return transfers. To book, simply add two individual services (one to the airport and one from the airport) to your basket during the booking process.

What should I do if I encounter an issue?If you encounter any issues during your transfer, please contact our customer support team immediately. We are here to assist you and will do everything we can to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

How much luggage can I bring?Luggage space depends on the number of passengers. Our vehicles can accommodate up to four passengers, with room in the boot for large suitcases. However, the capacity will vary depending on the occupancy of the vehicle. If you have specific luggage requirements, please let us know in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate them.

Can I make special requests for amenities during my journey?Yes, we are happy to accommodate special requests to make your journey as comfortable as possible. Whether you require bottled water, a specific type of music, or assistance with luggage, simply let us know when booking your journey.
